Many educational leaders are high performers, which causes them to be harsh with themselves and others. They feel that an academic setting should always be professional and formal. They also expect the school day to be scheduled and everything to go according to plan.

But, let’s confront it; anything that may go wrong generally does. That’s how life is! It’s better if you have a good sense of humor and don’t take yourself too seriously in life, which is difficult if you expect others to consider you seriously. Neither educators nor students want to be mentored by Someone who is all work and no enjoyment. If you’ve ever worked for a rigorous, no-nonsense supervisor, you know how difficult they can be to work with.
Serious education leaders in education risk alienating their staff or forcing them to resign. Furthermore, students that attend rigid institutions are frequently bored and alienated from their academics. It’s OK if the science class down the corridor is a little lively, and just because there are a lot of laughs and chuckles doesn’t mean things are out of hand. It simply implies that the kids are having a good time while learning. That is perfectly OK.

Influential educational leaders have the potential to laugh at themselves and recognize that, being human, they may make errors. It’s OK to be a professional, but it’s also fine to laugh at yourself when things go wrong. If you can’t laugh at yourself in regular life, don’t ruin everyone else’s fun by providing a discouraging humor environment.
On the other hand, you must ensure that humor is not used improperly. Never make jokes or find comedy in anything that undermines, humiliates, exploits, or abuses another person or group. Everyone in the educational environment should follow and understand this guideline. Ensure that it is always followed.
