Disney+ Star is a new category that was added to Disney+ on February 23, 2021. It offers a more diverse range of content to cater to the needs of older audiences. Unlike the traditional Disney movies and shows, Star features titles that are rated R or TV-MA rated. These include movies such as Deadpool, Die Hard, and The Devil Wears Prada and TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Sons of Anarchy, and Lost.
Disney+ Star offers a vast library of movies, TV shows, documentaries, and originals. It’s part of Disney’s plan to compete with other streaming services like Netflix. With over 800 titles at launch, the content library has continued to grow consistently.
Where is Disney+ Star available?
Disney+ Star is currently available in select countries. It launched in Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on February 23, 2021. It is expected to launch in Latin American countries like Brazil on June 8, 2021. Disney+ Star will also launch in Singapore on February 23, 2021, and Hong Kong on February 24, 2021.
The availability of Disney+ Star in other countries is unclear at the moment. However, we expect Disney to expand its service gradually to additional countries if everything works out well.
