How to Turn the Nintendo Switch Off
The Nintendo Switch, one of the most popular gaming consoles of recent times, offers its users a wide range of gaming experiences. However, after an intense gaming session, one might want to turn the device off. Turning the Nintendo Switch off might seem like an effortless task, but for a first-time user, it can be a bit tricky. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to turn the Nintendo Switch off.
Step 1: Close all running applications
Before you turn off your Nintendo Switch, make sure to close all running applications. To do this, navigate to the home screen by pressing the home button (the one with a picture of a house on it). Then, swipe up on the screen. This will show all the recently used applications. To close each of them, swipe up on each app.
Step 2: Press the Power button
Once you have closed all running applications, locate the Power button on your Nintendo Switch. The power button is located at the top-left corner of the console on the backside. Press and hold this button for a few seconds until the device turns off.
Step 3: Choose the power-off option from the Quick Menu (optional)
You can also turn off your Nintendo Switch using the Quick Menu option. To access this option, press and hold the home button on your joy-con to bring up a Quick Menu. From here, you can choose the Power Options and then select the Power Off option to turn off your device.
Step 4: Charging your Nintendo Switch
When your Nintendo Switch runs out of battery, it might power off on its own. To charge it, plug in the charger into the USB-C port located at the bottom of the console. Once the charger is plugged in, wait for the device to power on and return to the home screen. If the device does not turn on, press and hold the Power button until it boots up.
