How to Turn Off Camera Sounds and Screenshot Sounds on iPhone
As technology advances, we tend to capture special moments with the cameras and screenshots on our iPhones. But sometimes, the sound that comes with it can be quite inconvenient. You may want to turn off camera sounds if you are in a quiet environment to avoid drawing attention, or you may want to capture a snapshot of something without others knowing, which is also true for screenshot sounds. Luckily, turning off these sounds is simple. Here’s how you can do it.
Turning off Camera Sounds:
First, it’s essential to note that this built-in sound is adjustably audible by law in some countries. In those countries, you might not be able to mute the sound completely, but you can lower it to the minimum, which is usually a shutter-click. But where it’s allowed, here’s how you can turn off the camera sounds on your iPhone.
Using the Ringer Switch:
The physical button located on the upper-left side of your iPhone is usually used to silence ringtones and vibration alerts. But it also comes in handy to mute the camera sound. When you flip the ringer switch to the silenced position, your iPhone won’t make any sounds as you take pictures. However, this method only turns off the sound temporarily while muting all the other sounds and alerts.
Using the Silent Mode:
Silent mode enables you to turn off all sound and vibration alerts from your device. To activate this mode, tap on the switch on the left side of the device, which will turn orange.
In the Settings App:
If the above methods aren’t working for you, iPhone also enable you to turn off audio from your camera’s settings. Here’s how you can go about it.
1. Launch the settings app.
2. Go to Sounds & Haptics.
3. Scroll down to “system haptics,” then turn it off.
4. Now scroll down again to “Keyboard clicks,” and turn it off.
5. Scroll down to “Toggle Lock Sounds,” and turn it off.
6. Scroll down now to “Ringer and Alerts,” and turn off the sound by dragging the silent mode bar.
Turning off Screenshot Sounds:
The process of turning off the screenshot sound is pretty much the same as the camera sound. After all, both functions use the same audio settings. To turn off the screenshot sound on your iPhone, follow these steps.
1. Launch the settings app.
2. Navigate to Sounds & Haptics.
3. Scroll down to “screenshot,” and turn it off.
