How to Leave a Discord Server

Discord is a popular communication platform favored by gamers, communities, and business organizations. It provides its users with various features to interact and collaborate, including text, voice, and video chat, file-sharing, and much more. However, there may be situations when you want to leave a Discord server. Maybe you’re no longer interested in the topics discussed, or you want to reduce the number of servers cluttering your dashboard. Whatever the reason, leaving a Discord server is a simple and straightforward process.
This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to leave a Discord server.
Step 1: Open Discord
To leave a Discord server, you need to open the app first. Open Discord on your desktop or mobile phone by clicking the Discord icon on your taskbar or home screen.
Step 2: Choose the Server
Find the Discord server you want to leave. All servers you have joined are located on the left side of the Discord window. Click on the server’s name to enter its dashboard.
Step 3: Open Server Settings
Once you’re in the server, you need to open server settings to leave it. To access settings, click on the server name located at the top left corner of the screen. This will open a menu of options. From the menu, select “Server Settings” located at the bottom.
Step 4: Click “Leave Server”
In the server settings menu, scroll down to the bottom and click on “Leave Server.” After clicking this option, you will receive a warning message asking you to confirm your decision to leave the server. Click “Leave Server” to proceed with the confirmation.
Step 5: Optional Reason for Leaving
After you click “Leave Server,” you have the option to specify your reason for leaving. Discord provides several reasons that you can use to describe why you left the server.
Step 6: Confirm Your Decision
After providing a reason (if required), confirm your decision to leave the server by clicking “Leave Now.” Once you click this option, you will no longer receive messages, notifications, or updates from the server.
And that’s it! Following these steps will help you leave any Discord server you no longer wish to be a part of. Keep in mind that leaving a server is a final decision, and you cannot undo it. So, make sure that you no longer wish to be a part of that community before leaving.
