How to Downgrade Windows 11
Windows 11 is the latest version of the Microsoft Windows operating system that has generated a lot of excitement among computer enthusiasts. However, some users might want to switch back to the old version of Windows due to some incompatibility issues or for any other reasons. In this article, we will discuss how to downgrade Windows 11 to any previous version.
Before beginning this process, it is important to back up all your personal data, as downgrading Windows will erase all data and applications from your system. Make sure that you have a full backup of your entire hard drive, or save your data on a cloud or an external storage device.
Step 1: Open the “Settings” app on your computer by pressing the “Windows key” + “I”.
Step 2: Select “Update & Security” from the Settings window.
Step 3: From the Update and Security menu, select “Recovery” from the left pane.
Step 4: Under the “Recovery” option, look for the “Go back to the previous version of Windows 11” section and click on the “Get Started” button.
Step 5: The System will ask you why you want to go back. Select the reason and click on the “Next” button.
Step 6: The following screen will ask you to select your account and enter your password, if you have set one. Once you enter your credentials, click on “Continue.”
Step 7: Windows will start the uninstallation process, which may take some time, depending on how much data is stored on your computer.
Step 8: Once the process is complete, your system will be restored to the previous version of Windows that you were using before upgrading to Windows 11.
Note: If you don’t see the “Go back to the previous version of Windows 11” option, it may be because the system has already deleted the previous version files or you have waited for more than ten days since upgrading to Windows 11. In this case, you will need to use a Windows installation media to create a bootable device, start your computer from that device and install the previous version of Windows again.
In conclusion, downgrading from Windows 11 to a previous version is a straightforward process if you follow the above steps carefully. However, you must ensure that you back up all your personal and important data before starting the process. Remember that this process may take some time, and you will need to wait patiently until the system restores the previous version of Windows.
