Don’t panic! If you forgot your Mac password, you can still get back in
1. Use your Apple ID: If you have set up your Mac with your Apple ID, you can use it to reset your password. When you enter the wrong password three times in a row, you will be prompted to reset your password using your Apple ID. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.
2. Use Recovery Mode: If you haven’t set up your Mac with your Apple ID or if you can’t access your Apple ID, you can use Recovery Mode to reset your password. To enter Recovery Mode, restart your Mac and hold down Command + R until you see the Apple logo. From there, select “Utilities” and then “Terminal.” Type in “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press Enter. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.
3. Use a third-party tool: If you don’t want to use the built-in options, you can use a third-party tool to reset your password. There are many options available online, but be sure to do your research and choose a reputable tool.
