Don’t Own a PS5 Yet? Here’s How to Gameshare on PS4
The launch of the PlayStation 5 (PS5) has taken the gaming world by storm, with its top-notch features and an impressive lineup of games. However, if you’re still using a PlayStation 4 and have friends that own the latest console, you might be intrigued to try out gamesharing. Thankfully, it is possible to gameshare between PS4 and PS5! In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to set up gamesharing on your PS4.
What is Gamesharing?
Gamesharing allows you and a friend to share digital game libraries without purchasing multiple copies of the same game. It’s an excellent way to save money while enjoying each other’s game collections or trying new titles before buying them. Keep in mind that sharing also works for content like movies, subscriptions, and add-ons.
How to Gameshare on PS4
Here are the steps to enable gamesharing on your PS4:
1. Deactivate your account as the primary account holder: To do this, sign in with your own PlayStation Network (PSN) account on your console and follow these steps:
a. Go to Settings
b. Select “Account Management”
c. Choose “Activate as Your Primary PS4”
d. Click “Deactivate”
2. Log in with your friend’s account: Now that your device has been deactivated as your primary console, you’ll need your friend’s account credentials to sign in.
a. Navigate to Users > Add New User
b. Sign in with your friend’s email and password
c. Remember not to enable auto sign-in for their account
3. Set up their account as primary: After logging in with their account,
a. Head over to Settings
b. Choose “Account Management”
c. Select “Activate as Your Primary PS4”
d. Click “Activate”
4. Access the shared games: After activating your friend’s account as the primary one on your console, you can now access their purchased games. Go to the Library, select the purchased tab, and here you’ll find what they’ve bought.
5. Download and play: Press “X” on a game to start downloading and enjoy it once it’s installed!
Note that both parties need active PS Plus subscriptions to play online multiplayer. Be careful not to share your credentials with people you don’t trust, as they will have access to your credit card information and other sensitive data.
Voilà! You’ve successfully set up gamesharing between two accounts on the PS4. Now you can easily share games with friends who own a PS5, expanding your gaming horizon without any extra cost! Happy gaming!
