How to Watch the James Bond Movies in Order
If you’re a fan of the James Bond movies and want to watch them in order, there are a few different ways to go about it. Here are three methods to try:
1. Chronological Order
This is probably the most straightforward way to watch the movies, as you simply watch them in order of release. The first James Bond movie, Dr. No, was released in 1962, followed by From Russia with Love in 1963, Goldfinger in 1964, and so on. This order will take you through all 25 official James Bond movies, ending with No Time to Die, which was released in 2021.
2. Chronological by Actor
Another approach is to watch the movies in order of the actors who played James Bond. There have been six actors in total: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. Watching the movies in this order will give you a sense of how each actor brought their unique style to the role of Bond. For example, you could start with Dr. No (Connery) and then move on to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (Lazenby), followed by Live and Let Die (Moore). This order would end with No Time to Die (Craig).
3. Chronological by Continuity
If you want a more comprehensive Bond experience, you can watch the movies in order by their continuity within the Bond universe. This means starting with Casino Royale (2006), which is the first movie to feature Daniel Craig as Bond and serves as a reboot of the series. You would then move on to Quantum of Solace (2008) and the two-part storyline of Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015). This order would end with No Time to Die (2021), which serves as the finale to Craig’s run as Bond.
Regardless of which order you choose, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, there are both official and unofficial James Bond movies, so be sure to only include the official ones in your viewing order (unless you want to watch some of the unofficial ones, such as the 1967 Casino Royale). Second, some of the movies have direct sequels, such as Quantum of Solace and Spectre, so be sure to watch those in order if you go with the chronological by continuity approach. And finally, don’t forget to enjoy the ride – whether you’re a die-hard Bond fan or a newcomer to the series, there’s something for everyone in these iconic spy movies.
