How to Remove Words From iPhone Predictive Text
The predictive text feature on iPhone can be a lifesaver when it comes to typing out messages, emails, or notes. However, at times, the predictive text feature can get it wrong and suggest words that you do not even use or wish to use. It can be bothersome and frustrating to keep seeing those irrelevant suggestions repeatedly. But fear not, there is a solution to this problem. Here is a guide on how to remove words from the iPhone predictive text.
Step 1: Locate the settings app on your iPhone
Begin by opening the settings app on your iPhone’s home screen. Tap the settings icon, which looks like a grey cogwheel, to open the settings menu.
Step 2: Navigate to the Keyboard settings
Once you are in the settings menu, scroll down until you see the “General” option. Tap on it and then scroll down again, this time until you see the “Keyboard” option, tap on it.
Step 3: Access the Text Replacement feature
Now you should see the “Text Replacement” tab. Tap on the tab to open it.
Step 4: Add a new text replacement
Here, you will see the list of all the saved shortcuts and phrases saved on your iPhone. To add a new text replacement, click on the “+” sign in the corner.
Step 5: Enter the word you want to remove
Once you click on the “+” sign, you will see two blank fields. In the “Phrase” field, enter the word you want to remove from the predictive text.
Step 6: Leave the shortcut field blank
In the “Shortcut” field, just leave it blank. This is because you do not want the predictive text feature to suggest that word in the future.
Step 7: Save the changes
Lastly, click on the “Save” button on the top right corner of the screen.
And that’s it! Once you have completed all the steps, that word will no longer be suggested by the predictive text feature. You can always follow the same steps to add any other words that you do not want to see suggested on your iPhone. This trick can save you a lot of time and frustration by customizing and tailoring your predictive text to your liking.
