How to Put Apps to Sleep on Your Samsung Phone to Save Battery Life
As smartphones become increasingly important in our daily lives, their batteries are often unable to keep up with our demands. In order to save battery life, Samsung phones come equipped with a feature to put apps to sleep. This feature allows for the app to continue functioning in the background but using fewer resources, saving battery life in the process. Here’s how to put apps to sleep on your Samsung phone:
Step 1: Go to your phone’s settings
Open your Samsung phone’s settings app by tapping on the gear icon in your app drawer.
Step 2: Select the device’s maintenance option
From your phone’s settings, select the “Device maintenance” option. This option manages the health and performance of your device, including its battery life.
Step 3: Tap on the “Battery” option
In the device maintenance menu, select the “Battery” option to access your phone’s battery usage information.
Step 4: Open the “App power management” settings
Next, tap on the three-dot icon in the top right corner and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu. From there, select “App power management.”
Step 5: Enable the “Put unused apps to sleep” option
In the App power management settings, enable the “Put unused apps to sleep” option. This will put apps to sleep that havent been used in a while, conserving battery life and system resources.
Step 6: Customize your app sleep settings
By selecting “Put unused apps to sleep,” you will be taken to a list of all the apps on your phone. From here, you can select individual apps and customize their sleep settings. For example, you can prioritize certain apps to remain awake or exempt certain apps from the sleep settings entirely.
