How to Play Retro Nintendo Games on Your Switch
The Nintendo Switch is undoubtedly one of the most popular gaming consoles out there right now thanks to its excellent features and game library. The console is especially loved for its ability to support a wide range of games, including Retro Nintendo games. If you have a Nintendo Switch and are looking to play some old-school games, here are the steps to take.
Step One: Subscribe to Nintendo Online
To begin playing Retro Nintendo games on your Switch, you will first need to subscribe to Nintendo Online. Upon subscribing, you’ll receive access to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super NES games. You can either purchase an individual membership or sign up for a family membership which allows up to eight Nintendo account holders to use the service for one low price.
Step Two: Download the Nintendo Online App
Next, you’ll need to download the Nintendo Online app on your Nintendo Switch. This app provides access to all NES and SNES games that you can play on your console. To download the app, you can go to the Nintendo eShop, choose the app, and download it.
Step Three: Select Your Retro Game
Once you have the Nintendo Online app, you can select the NES or SNES game you want to play. The app offers a selection of popular games, including Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and Final Fantasy.
Step Four: Play the Game
With the game selected, you can start playing. The console will offer numerous control options, including the Joy-Con, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, and handheld controls. Whether you want to go solo or play with friends, the Nintendo Switch offers a fantastic gaming experience on whatever control option you choose.
Step Five: Save Progress and Resume Later
Once you have saved your game progress, you can easily resume from where you left off whenever you want. However, the game will only save up to five different save files. If you would like to add to your save files, you can erase older progress and save the new one, allowing you to continue right where you stopped playing.
