How to Hide Likes on Your Facebook Posts
Facebook has always been a platform where people can share their thoughts, insights, and experiences. Whether it’s a life update or a funny meme, Facebook users always appreciate seeing the kind of content that their friends and family are posting. What’s more, Facebook has a feature that allows users to express their appreciation for the posts they see, through the “like” button.
However, with everything that comes with popularity, Facebook’s “like” feature can sometimes cause anxiety and pressure for its users. For many, seeing the number of likes on their posts can feel like a judgment of sorts. And given that social media has been linked on some level to mental health issues, it’s not surprising that Facebook users, especially younger ones, have been asking for the ability to hide likes on their posts.
Well, the good news is that Facebook has finally answered that call. Users now have the option to hide likes on their posts, giving them more control over their social media experience. If you’re wondering how to do it, here’s a simple guide:
Step 1: Update Your App
Before you can start, make sure that you have the latest version of the Facebook app on your phone. You can check by going to the App Store or Play Store and seeing if there is an update available for the app.
Step 2: Create a Post
Next, you need to create a post that you want to hide the likes. You can write a status, upload an image or video, or share a link. It’s up to you.
Step 3: Click on the Three Dots
Once you’ve created your post, locate the three dots in the top-right corner of your post. This is where you’ll find the “Edit Post” and “Delete Post” buttons, as well as other options.
Step 4: Enable “Hide Like Count”
In the list of options that appear when you click on the three dots, you’ll see “Hide Like Count”. Select this option, and your likes will be hidden from your friends and followers.
Step 5: Publish Your Post
Once you’ve hidden the likes, you can now publish your post as you normally would. When your friends and followers view your post, they won’t see the number of likes. Instead, it will only show who reacted to your post.
