How to Gameshare on the Nintendo Switch
Gamers who own a Nintendo Switch console have the perfect opportunity to share their games with their friends and family members. This is very helpful because you don’t have to purchase the same game twice just so that you can both enjoy it. Nintendo made it easy to gameshare on the Switch with the use of their Share the Joy feature. In this article, we will be discussing how to gameshare on the Nintendo Switch.
Step 1: Ensure That You Have an Active Nintendo Online Subscription
To gameshare on your Nintendo Switch, ensure that you have an active subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. This is very important because you will need to be connected to the internet to access the gameshare feature.
Step 2: Connect to Your Friend’s Switch
To gameshare, both you and your friend must be connected to the internet. Ensure that you and your friend are properly connected, and then select your friend’s icon from your Switch home menu.
Step 3: Register Your Friend’s Switch as Your Primary Console
Now that you have selected your friend’s Switch, the next step is to register their console as your primary console. All you need to do is go to the Nintendo eShop on your Switch, select your account, and then go to the “Your Downloads” section. Here, you will see the option to download the game. Choose “Download” and once the download has started, close the eShop.
Step 4: Access the Gameshare Feature
The gameshare feature on the Switch is called “Share the Joy.” To access it, you will need to select the game you want to share, press the plus button on your Switch controller, and then choose the “Share” option. After this, you will see two options – Share with Local Users and Share with Faraway Friends. Choose the latter.
Step 5: Send Invite to Your Friend
At this point, you will need to send an invite to your friend for them to connect to your game. You can do this by selecting “Invite Friend” and then a code will be generated. Send the code to your friend and they can then join the game by entering it.
Step 6: Start Playing
Once the invite has been accepted, both you and your friend can now play the same game at the same time. It’s important to note that only one person can play the game at a time. When one person is playing, the other will be locked out until the other person is done playing.
Gamesharing on the Nintendo Switch is an awesome feature that allows you to share your gaming experience with your friends and family. It’s important to remember that gamesharing is only possible with digital copies of games – physical copies cannot be shared.
