How to Delete a Story on Facebook
As social media has become a part of our everyday lives, posting a story or a post on Facebook has become a common occurrence for most people. However, there are situations where you may want to delete a story you posted. Maybe you posted something embarrassing, or maybe the post went viral but not in a good way. Whatever the reason may be, deleting the story is a simple process. Here’s how:
Step 1: Locate the story/post you want to delete.
To start with, locate the story you want to delete, which can be either on your profile or in a group. If it’s a story on your profile, simply click on your profile picture in the top left corner of your Facebook page to go to your profile.
If it’s a story on a group, go to the group where you posted it, and look for the story.
Step 2: Click on the three dots.
Now that you have located the story or post, click on the three dots located at the top right corner of the post. This will show you a drop-down menu with several options, including “Edit post,” “Delete post,” “Turn off commenting,” and “Archive.”
Step 3: Select “Delete post.”
Click on “Delete post” from the available options, and a confirmation dialog box will pop up. The dialog box will ask, “Are you sure you want to delete this post?” If you’re certain, click on “Delete” for the post to be permanently deleted.
Step 4: Confirm it’s deleted.
To confirm that the story is deleted, go back to your profile or group and see if the post is still visible. If it’s gone, congratulations, you’ve successfully deleted your Facebook story!
Remember that once the story is deleted, you cannot recover it. Also, note that deleting a story or post will remove it from everyone’s view, and no one can see it anymore.
