How to Add Website Shortcuts to the iPhone Home Screen
As we all know, the iPhone’s home screen is a sacred place reserved for our most frequently used apps and features. But what about our favorite websites that we visit regularly? Instead of always having to open up Safari and navigate to the site, we can add website shortcuts directly to our home screen for quick and easy access. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Open up Safari on your iPhone and navigate to the website you want to create a shortcut for.
Step 2: Tap on the share icon at the bottom of the screen (it looks like a square with an upward arrow in it).
Step 3: Scroll down and tap on “Add to Home Screen”.
Step 4: The Name field should automatically populate with the name of the website, but you can tap on it and customize it to your liking. You can also choose an icon by tapping on the icon next to the name field.
Step 5: Tap “Add” in the top right corner and voila! You now have a website shortcut on your home screen.
A couple of important things to note:
-Website shortcuts will only work in Safari. So if you use a different browser app on your iPhone, this won’t work for you.
-Website shortcuts essentially function like a bookmark, so if the website updates their URL or shuts down the shortcut may stop working.
