How to Add Links to Your Instagram Posts
As an Instagram user, you may have seen that many posts you come across have links that lead to external content. These links may lead you to a website, a blog article, or any other online content. Adding a link to your Instagram post can promote your business, boost traffic to your website, and increase engagement with your audience.
But how do you get started and add these links to your Instagram posts? Here are some simple steps to guide you through the process.
1. Make sure you have an Instagram Business account
Before you can add links to your posts, you need to have an Instagram Business account. You can easily switch to a business account by going to your profile, clicking the three horizontal lines on the top right corner and selecting “Settings”. From there, click on “Account” and then select “Switch to Professional Account”. You will be prompted to choose your business category and link your Facebook page.
2. Choose your link
Decide on the link you want to add to your Instagram post. Do you want to direct your audience to a blog post, product page, or a landing page? Ensure that the link is relevant to the content of your post and the message you want to convey to your audience.
3. Add the link to your bio
Instagram does not allow links in posts unless your account has over 10,000 followers. Therefore, the only way to add a link to your post is by adding it to your bio. Go to your profile, click on “Edit Profile,” paste your link in the Website field, and save.
4. Create your post
After adding the link to your bio, you can proceed to create your post. Add a picture, video, or other content that goes with your message. Remember to keep your post relevant and engaging to avoid losing the interest of your audience.
5. Mention the link in your post
In your post’s caption, you can mention that you have added a link to your bio. This will draw your audiences’ attention to your bio and encourage them to click the link. You can use call-to-action phrases such as “Visit our website to learn more” or “Click the link in our bio for more information”.
