Google Classroom Tip #11: Digital Badge Systems
Digital badges award students for their achievements, skills, or other positive qualities. It might seem like a digital image of a badge won’t make much difference. But believe it or not, digital badges have the power to transform the way your students view learning and assessment. You can develop badge systems with third-party apps to integrate challenges into lessons. Badges can also be integrated with Google Classroom.
As a rule of thumb, just remember that there are 5 ways that you can use digital badges in the classroom:
- Rethink assessment
- Set criteria and goals
- Encourage positive behavior
- Motivate
- Recognize and reward
