Fix Google Play Services Battery Drain on Android
Google Play Services is a crucial component that allows you to download and access apps from the Google Play Store. However, it can also be a major culprit when it comes to excessive battery drainage. Here are the possible ways to fix this problem:
1. Update Google Play Services: Make sure that you have the latest version of Google Play Services installed on your device. Go to the Google Play Store and check for any available updates for all your apps in your library.
2. Clear Google Play Services Cache: Go to your phone’s settings, then Apps & notifications, then select Google Play Services. Select the “Storage” option and then “Clear Cache.”
3. Disable Location Services: Google Play Services uses your phone’s location to deliver accurate search results and location-specific ads. However, keeping location services enabled all the time can drain your battery. You can disable it by going to Settings > Location > Google Location Reporting > Off.
4. Disable Background Data: To check if Google Play Services is running in the background, go to Settings > Data Usage > Google Play Services > Background Data. If it is enabled, consider turning it off.
5. Reset App Preferences: Sometimes your phone’s settings can get messed up and cause battery issues. To fix this, go to Settings > Apps > Reset App Preferences.
6. Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try a factory reset. Remember to backup all your important data before doing this, as it will erase all your phone’s data and settings.
Note: If you are still facing battery drain issues after taking all these steps, there could be an underlying issue with your Android device. You may want to consider contacting your device manufacturer or Google support for further assistance.
